POP GOES THE REDLANDS!
After the mega sell-out success of ROCK CHOIR in 2023, Play It Forward returns to RPAC with POP CHOIR!
This is your chance to perform some of the greatest pop classics by the Beatles, Carpenters, Seekers, ELO, Elton John, Johnny O'Keefe, David Bowie, Whitney Houston, ABBA, Pink and many more on stage with the ‘Choir Man’ himself, Jonathon Welch AM!
POP CHOIR is a unique access and inclusion program that aims to engage singers of all ages and demographics from the Redlands Coast community who might not normally sing in a formalised choir setting, along with professional development opportunities for trained music teachers and conductors, to come together and prepare a concert of much-loved pop classics.
This community choir project will once-again be under the direction of Play It Forward's award-winning artistic director, Jonathon Welch AM, and supported by a team of outstanding local professional musicians and arts administration practitioners.
Singers will work together over nine weeks of workshops and rehearsals that will culminate in a public community performance in the RPAC Concert Hall. This will be your chance to shine on the RPAC stage as you sing your heart out en masse in front of your family and friends.
This year, we've doubled the amount of rehearsal time with Jonathon, so you'll have double the amount of fun! More of the workshops are also on a Saturday, making it even easier for people to attend who may be working or living outside of the Redlands.

By registering for this workshop series, you are opting in to receive communication regarding workshop times and materials for POP CHOIR from the co-presenter Play It forward.
Any updates regarding workshop details and revision materials will be sent to you directly from Play It Forward.
Fees
Registration fee includes all 20 workshops/rehearsals, plus two performances with a conductor and accompanist, all music and rehearsal files, and a limited-edition POP CHOIR t-shirt.
Participants must commit to 80% attendance.
The following are mandatory:
- Tech rehearsal on Friday 12 April
- Tech rehearsal & Performance on Saturday 13 April
NOTE: It is not possible to pay for workshops on a per-workshop basis
T-shirt orders
A limited-edition POP CHOIR t-shirt is included in your registration fee and is to be worn on the performance date.
T-shirt samples will be provided at the first two rehearsals so that you can determine your size and place your order.
Suitability
Most suitable for ages 18+.
Secondary students are welcome if accompanied by a supervising Adult workshop ticket holder.
Ticket collection:
No individual workshop tickets will be sent out for this event. Please keep your registration confirmation for proof of booking.

$5.30 by phone and $6.40 online per transaction.
