Redland Sinfonia

RPAC Orchestra in Residence since 2010

Redland Sinfonia is a vibrant community orchestra which has entertained Redlands Coast audiences for 34 years. For the past decade it has been Orchestra in Residence at RPAC, first performing in the Gallery then moving to the Concert Hall five years ago, a move which coincided with the appointment of Dr Graeme Denniss to the position of Conductor/Artistic Director.

The orchestra performs a season of three themed concerts each year at RPAC, with extra concerts and other activities in different venues from time to time.

New members are always welcome. Minimum standard is Grade 7 or equivalent. Rehearsals take place in the RPAC Concert Hall on Tuesday evenings from 7.15pm to 9.30pm, with extra rehearsals before concerts. The Sinfonia is currently seeking string players however, all applications will be considered. There may be opportunities to perform solos and play in smaller groups as well.

Redland City Choir

RPAC Choir in Residence since 2017

The Redland City Choir is an all-age, diverse community group of people who simply love to sing!

The choir initially formed for a one-off community performance at the Redlands Family Easter Festival in 2013. The group loved singing together so much that they asked to continue rehearsing, and performance offers started to roll in.

Since then, the choir has grown and performed at many local events and recorded albums, with profits from sales contributing over $40,000 for victims of domestic and family violence.

The Redland City Choir officially joined the RPAC family in 2017 and is a feature in the annual Redlands White Christmas event.

The Choir has been nominated for Australia Day Awards and was awarded first place in the Redlands Eisteddfod.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the choir was forced to pause rehearsals and performances but will resume in February 2021.

Sing Sing Sing

RPAC Company in Residence since 2024

Sing Sing Sing is a choir for people living with dementia and for their carers. The choir meets each week to
sing, socialise, share stories, build skills and prepare to share the joy of singing with its audiences. We also
perform for an audience a few times a year.

We encourage people with dementia to come along with a partner, a family member or a friend because
singing is a fun thing to do together.

Choir members are supported by enthusiastic volunteer singing buddies who accompany them on their
journey of music-making.

Sing Sing Sing Redlands meets at the Auditorium, Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) on Monday
mornings from 10am to 12 noon during public school terms. RPAC is at 2-16 Middle Street, Cleveland,
opposite the Cleveland Police Station and courthouse.

To join the choir or find out more, please contact Sing Sing Sing on 0481 348 552 or email dementiachoirs@gmail.com
