A Soft Tread production

Since its premiere in 2019, the smash hit comedy The Gospel According to Paul has taken the country by storm, selling out venues across the country and attracting plaudits from audiences and critics alike.

Co-creator and star of The Wharf Revue Jonathan Biggins creates an appropriately acerbic and always compelling portrait of one of Australia’s most charismatic leaders. Full of intelligence and wit, The Gospel According to Paul is a funny, insightful and poignant depiction of Paul Keating, the man that — as he tells it — single-handedly shaped contemporary Australia.

Showcasing Keating’s eviscerating wit, rich rhetoric and ego the size of Everest, Jonathan distils Keating into one hilarious and evocative night of theatre —  the visionary, reformer, rabble-rouser, and Bankstown boy who quickly realised that to get things done in political life it’s better to be needed than loved.
