Redland City Bands Dance Concert

Get ready to dance the night away at the RPAC Studio as the Redland City Bands Big Band presents an unforgettable evening of music and dance for the Redlands community!

Our Latin Extravaganza will feature Bossa, Samba, Rhumba, Salsa and more. Enjoy the enchantment of live music, as the RCB Big Band perform two 50-minute sets, separated by one 20 minute interval for you to catch your breath and mingle or continue dancing as recorded Latin music will be played during the interval.  

This concert will feature Lucas Saad Tambelli, a Brazilian percussionist, event organiser and director of Comunidade do Samba and Samba Vibes Drumming School in Brisbane. Lucas has been performing and promoting Brazilian cultural events for more than 10 years, focusing on traditional samba, pagode and Afro-Brazilian rhythms.

The featured vocalist of the night is Vicki Salisbury. Vicki was born in New York and is the second generation of jazz singers in her family, having learned much of the Great American Song book from her mum, Cree. She recalls watching her mother perform on stage, with combos and big bands. In fact, the Girl from Ipanema, a tune she will be performing for the Latin Night, is one of Cree's Big Band charts.
