Featuring Tyrone Noonan

A celebration of Marvin Gaye’s music that will leave you flyin’ high.

ARIA Award-winning artist Tyrone Noonan, former co-lead singer of No.1 chart-topping Brisbane band, george, pays homage to the enduring legacy of American singer/songwriter Marvin Gaye.

Performing all the songs from Marvin’s musical masterpiece, What’s Going On, along with select choices from throughout his hugely successful career, Tyrone brings his jazz/Latin/soul band, Palimpsest, along for this smooth ride.

Joining Noonan on stage to bring this album to life will be some of Queensland’s finest musicians: Brendan St Ledger on keyboards, James Mcintyre on guitars, Joshua Hatcher on saxophones, flutes and glockenspiel, Pat Farrell on bass, Aaron Jansz on drums and Cindia Reine on percussion.

What's Going On still holds the coveted Number 1 spot in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Many musicologists argue it is the most realised "concept" album ever produced and the single greatest collection of popular music ever recorded.

Just in time for this iconic album’s 50th anniversary, this performance is a celebration of Marvin’s music not to be missed.

"Queensland music royalty."
