2021 Workshop Series

The team from indelabilityarts returns to Redland Performing Arts Centre with their latest workshop series.  This year's workshops will focus on developing our 'triple threat': singing, dancing and acting, to create a musical review - Broadway, here we come!

Who is it for?  This workshop series provides skills development and training in the performing arts for community members who identify as having a disability. We aim our workshops for people from ages 15 plus, but are happy to accommodate younger members. Please just get in touch.

What do we do? Our focus is in on the ‘actor inside all of us’. Each session comprises of actor training exercises and applied theatre techniques to develop participants' skills, knowledge, and confidence in theatre-making; while also enhancing their social and communication skills, team work and relationships, and spatial and physical awareness.

Who are we? indelabilityarts seeks to fill a gap within arts and disability service provision, particularly for school leavers, by offering ongoing, skills-based training in the arts and creating professional artistic opportunities for community members with disabilities. In undertaking actor training, our workshop participants improve their physical and spatial awareness, develop their social and communication skills and therefore, their confidence. Also, by expressing their identity and discovering a place where they belong, they improve their mental wellbeing. Our professional ensemble members take a leadership role within the workshops, mentoring less experienced participants, passing on their skills, and being positive role models within the class.
