School Holiday Fun!

Everyone knows Jack’s story, but what about the giant’s?

Do we really know what happened that day when Jack unexpectedly barged into the giant’s kitchen? Was it the grim fee-fi-fo-fum bone-crunching tale we’ve all grown up with, or is there a different story waiting to be told?

Beanstalk is the hilarious retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk told from the giant’s point of view. Step into Brian’s cloud-making kitchen where he cooks up carrots, fluffy clouds and a few stories from his not-so-easy life as a giant.

Funny, unapologetically playful and utterly charming, Beanstalk will have you laughing at the antics of a loaf of bread (Jack), reeling in horror at the squishing of a tomato (a villager), and marvelling at the clever trickery that brings the magic of cloud creation to life.

"Very funny, very charming, this was obviously and audibly adored by the youngsters in the audience but has plenty for grown-ups to love."
— Stage Whispers
"The writing is so tight and clever that, just as with all the high-budget Hollywood kids flicks, there are hidden gems that keep the parents and adults giggling just as much as the ‘Groundlers’."
— ArtsHub
"The other characters in the story are devised from a motley collection of vegetables and items from Brian’s kitchen. Jack is a loaf of bread, his mother an elegant celery bunch, and there are squashable tomatoes and erupting popcorn kernels. You can imagine the delightful mess."
— SeeSaw Magazine
