Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) is pleased to present the 2010 Musical Melodies program.

The 2009 Musical Melodies program, continued to be a big hit with patrons, with sell out concerts firmly establishing the concert series, popular position as one of the centre’s most enjoyed programs.

Musical Melodies is a regular, annual performance series presented by the Centre, primarily designed to offer three to four high quality performances for the Redland community’s seniors and pensioners at affordable prices.

Everyone is welcome at the Musical Melodies performances and the productions will no doubt be of interest to and be enjoyed by patrons of all ages.

In 2010 week day performances will be on Wednesday’s at 11am or at 2pm on weekends. The performances generally will run for about 1 hour to 1 ½ hours without an interval. Patrons will receive a free cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit upon arrival at the venue!

The 2010 Musical Melodies series will include four exciting performances spread across the year, which we hope will continue entertain and delight you all.  In March we bring you “Dusty, Doris & Me” starring popular Australian singer Ms Wendy Stapleton, in a wonderful show that pays tribute Dusty Springfield, Britain’s greatest female pop singer. In April we are delighted to be able to bring international recording star John McNally with his concert titled, “Melodies of Love”, in July we offer more surprises when Athol Guy of The Seekers fame performs especially for our Musical Melodies patrons in “Athol Guy And Friends” ,which will feature all of the big hits of the sixties, including all of your favourite Seekers songs and more.  The 2010 Musical Melodies series concludes in August when Philip Gould brings his concert “Andrew Lloyd Webber & Friends” to the Redlands in a show that will feature the music of Lloyd Webbers great stage musicals including “Cats”, “Phantom of the Opera”, “Evita”, “Les Miserable’s”, “Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat”, and many more!

John MacNally continues to be one of the most popular and enduring entertainers. John’s new show, melodies of Love, is also the title of his latest CD.  The show features stand out songs such as “You Raise Me Up”, “Wind Beneath My Wings” and country classic love songs including ‘Send Me The Pillow That You Dream On” and “For The Good Times”.
