Five of the best tenor voices in Australia, The Australian Tenors’ versatility spans all genres of the classical tenor repertoire. For their 2020 Spirit of Australia Tour they are bringing a sensational program of music to the RPAC stage, along with romance, excitement, warmth and humour. The concert encapsulates the spirit, beauty and vocal demand of truly authentic tenor voice.
You can look forward to them performing much-loved classical arias from popular Operas such as the tenor trademark Puccini's Nessun Dorma and Verdi’s Anvil Chorus, plus popular tenor songs including Man of La Mancha's The Impossible Dream, West Side Story’s Somewhere and Neapolitan favourite Funiculi Funicular. The Australian Tenors also delight audiences with songs from hit music theatre productions and their stirring rendition of The Hallelujah Chorus with the Angelic Voice Choir. Beautiful duets are also a part of the program including songs from Phantom of the Opera and Amigos Para Siempre.
Proudly Australian, a performance from world-renowned The Australian Tenors is never complete without the ever-popular, Waltzing Matilda, Australia My Country (Dorothea Mackellar poem) and I Am Australian, among other favourites.
The Australian Tenors are Murray Mayday, Lorenzo Rositano, Blake Fischer, Michael Butchard and Bradley Cooper, and they will unite in this wonderful concert with a dynamic display of true Australian talent. They are backed by The Southern Cross Orchestra, under the direction of Musical Director and Conductor Joseph Macri. They will also be joined by special guests, Opera Australia’s soprano Giuseppina Grech and the Gold Coast Choir.
