Details:
Redland Performing Arts Centre is pleased to offer an exciting new workshop program for aspiring playwrights. RED SHORTS – Play Writing Workshop is an intensive weekend education program on how to write a 10 minute play, with one of the world’s leading 10 minute playwrights, Alex Broun.
The aim of the workshops is to inspire you to write a good ten minute play, and to equip you with the tools required to write the play. Topics covered in the three day program include: what makes a good ten minute play; story and style; character and dialogue; and theatricality and surprise. During the program you will be able to pitch your ideas for a ten minute play, write and workshop the play with actors. The weekend program will conclude with ‘moved public reading’ of participant’s scripts, to an invited audience!
RPAC is pleased to partner with Red Fest for the RED SHORTS program, three of the plays written as part of the workshop program will be selected to be performed at Red Fest on Saturday 10 September! At least one of the plays written will also be selected to be performed at the Short + Sweet – Brisbane Short Play Festival.
