2012 Musical Melodies Program
Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) is pleased to present the 2012 Musical Melodies program, a series of five high quality shows featuring some of Australia’s best loved superstars.
Musical Melodies is a regular, annual performance series presented by the Centre, primarily designed to offer four to five high quality performances for the Redland community’s seniors and pensioners at affordable prices.
The concert series has been very popular with patrons, with sell out concerts firmly establishing its' position as one of the Centre’s most enjoyed programs. In 2011 the program continued to grow in popularity, with attendance at the 2011 series growing by a further 14% to 94% attendance at the five concerts in 2011!
The 2012 Musical Melodies Concert Series offers extraordinary variety, with another great year of entertainment that will feature some of Australia’s finest performers. The 2012 series kicks off in March with Music of the Night starring Dale Burridge and Danielle Everett, the two original stars of the Premier Australian Production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, with songs from Puccini to Lloyd Webber; this concert will be a great tribute to music theatre and more! In May, we present Australian Golden Guitar winner, Trevor Knight in Thank God I’m a Country Boy, a concert that celebrates the music of John Denver! July brings the return, by popular demand, of a Queensland favourite, Simon Gallaher starring in his all new show, Secret Love, featuring classic love songs and torch songs from the past 50 years. Simon’s concert sold out weeks in advance in 2011, so please be sure to book your tickets early! In September we present the unique talents of Ms. Judy Glen in How to Age Disgracefully, a wild and whacky show of comedy, song and fabulous frocks where you will find out how to age disgracefully! The final performance in 2012 will feature Keith Potger, founding member of THE SEEKERS, accompanying himself on his trusty six string guitar, sharing stories of his time in the music industry and bringing audiences into his life and times, and of course, some of the great Seekers hits will be featured in the concert!
Everyone is welcome at the Musical Melodies performances and the productions will no doubt be of interest to and be enjoyed by patrons of all ages. Please join us from one hour prior to each performance for a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit. The performances are conveniently timed on a Wednesday at 11am and on Saturdays at 2pm, with shows running for approximately an hour and a half.
We hope our dedicated Musical Melodies patrons will enjoy this exciting concert program and we all look forward to seeing you at the Centre!
