2019 Musical Melodies Concert Series - ON SALE NOW

​​Redland Performing Arts Centre is pleased to present the 2019 Musical Melodies program, which once again offers local Seniors and Pensioners a great variety of concerts throughout the year at affordable prices.

This concert series is launched in early December each year and the response to this year's series has been phenomenal! 

If you missed out on tickets this year then make sure you register your interest with the RPAC Box Office to receive the Musical Melodies pack. You can also check this website or the RPAC Facebook page in early December each year to be the first to see the great range of Musical Melodies Concerts when they are released.
Everyone is welcome at Musical Melodies performances and the concert series caters for guests who may have special needs or require assistance when attending events at the Centre. The performances are conveniently timed on a Wednesday at 11am and on Saturdays at 2pm in the Concert Hall.
The series has become very popular with patrons with full houses for most shows, so make sure you book your tickets early for the great concerts ahead in 2019!
Please join us from one hour prior to each performance, for a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit.
The Sundial Café will also be open on the Piazza prior to each concert serving a range of hot and cold beverages from $3. Light snacks will also be available for purchase from the café.  No bar facilities will be available during Musical Melodies concerts.

Wednesday 13 February, 11am

After their sell-out performance of The Pirates of Penzance in 2018, Promac Productions is back! Bringing together all your favourtie Gilbert and Sullivan musicals in one sensationally fast-paced, hilarious, hit show, Pirates to Pinafore is not to be missed.

This new and unique production reflects on the hits and highlights of Gilbert and Sullivan's successful career through the eyes of the two men and their manager, Richard D'Oyly Carte, but as Gilbert himself wrote, 'things are seldom what they seem' and it's well known these three men who created such magic around the world did not get on!

Starring Rhydian Lewis and The Swinging Residual 8-Piece Big Band
Saturday 6 April, 2pm

Rhydian Lewis returns to RPAC after the sell-out success of The Rat Bunch. This time, he will be joining forces with The Swinging Residual 8-Piece Big Band to bring The Best of Bublé to the Redlands.

The show is a journey down memory lane featuring songs by Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin that have been covered by Bublé, as well as platinum hits and original songs. You can expect to hear all-time classics such as Beyond the Sea, The Way You Look Tonight, Sway, Save The Dance For Me, It Had Better Be Tonight, Moondance, Heartache Tonight, Baby You've Got What It Takes, Home, Everything and Lost.

Starring Roy Best, Alison Jones, Chris McKenna and, on the piano, Len Vorster
Wednesday 19 June, 11am

One of Australia's finest tenors, Roy Best, will be at the helm performing many of the classic hits from Pavarotti, Bocelli, Lanza, Domingo and, of course, Enrico Caruso and Jose Carreras.

Every tenor has a leading lady and in this performance it is one of the country's most versatile sopranos, Alison Jones who will lend her talent to a number of beautiful solos and duets. Crowd favourite, Chris McKenna as narrator and compere will guide the audience through the fascinating stories of the greatest tenors the world has ever known.  Accompanying this great singing and storytelling will be concert pianist and virtuoso, Len Vorster at the piano.

'Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard the magical airline Up, Up and Away! We trust you'll enjoy the fabulous in-flight entertainment system.'

Get ready to go jet-setting with the fabulous airline crew of Up, Up & Away! in this riotous dance cabaret.  In a flurry of song, dance and costume changes, the fabulous air hostesses will take you on a once-in-a-lifetime journey around the world.

Starring Karla Hillam
Wednesday 16 October, 11am

This engaging performance will feature some of Julie Andrews' best-known songs from Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, Victor Victoria and many more. Between the hits, stories of her life both on and off the stage, this show will engage and intrigue you. 

This all-singing, all-dancing performance will follow Andrews' journey from the West End to Broadway and onto Hollywood.  Karla Hillam said, ' (Andrews) is known as being sweet and delightful but she's no pushover.  She refused to be typecast and has brought joy to so many people around the world.'
