Forget scrapbooking! Capture your special memories on video during these fun and interactive workshops
Learn how to capture and share memories in this story-telling workshop mini-series conducted by Neal Price, Executive Director of the Creative Ageing Centre, Brisbane.
Neal has been working in the community cultural development sector in a range of areas such as healthcare, disability and aged-care for almost 20 years. With a background in mental health nursing and disciplines of teaching art, drama, ceramics and arts management, he established the first Queensland non-arts funded Artist in Residency position at The Prince Charles Hospital and since championed the use of the arts in community health centres, aged care and disability agencies.
Neal will conduct three workshops in the lead up to and during Seniors Week that will help you to capture and share your special memories.
Workshop places are limited so make sure you book early to secure a place!
Workshop 1: Old School Days
Thursday 10 August, 10am - noon
Share your memories of school days and how much times have changed. There will be plenty of props on hand to help you reminisce.
Workshop 2: Much Depends on Dinner
Thursday 17 August, 10am - noon
Before television arrived, family dinners were the thing that held the family together. Relive those special times when family time was spend without an electronic device in sight!
Workshop 3: Romance and Weddings
Thursday 24 August, 10am - noon
Bring along your wedding album or family photos and share your memories of romance and weddings from the good old days.
