Celebrate NAIDOC week and enjoy a free concert from X Factor winner Isaiah
Isaiah has blazed his way through the past few years, gathering accolades, awards, and global success along the way.
The boy from Moama won The X Factor in 2016 and followed up with a debut single that charted all over the world and notched up over 120 million international streams. In 2017 he represented Australia at Eurovision in Ukraine with his song Don’t Come Easy, placing ninth in the Grand Final. All that at just 17 years of age!
This talented indigenous singer is described as a role model for young people in Australia, and is passionate about showing them they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
This is your opportunity to hear his soaring vocals live on stage for free as part of Redland City’s NAIDOC Week celebrations.
You can also enjoy a range of cultural activities on the RPAC Piazza before the concert. In celebration of this year’s NAIDOC theme ‘Because of her, we can!’ these activities feature or use materials from local Indigenous female artists including: dance, weaving, traditional storytelling and the chance to make your own wood artwork with Chez Beauvardia.
An schedule for the day can be found at the bottom of this page.
You can also enjoy a selection of works by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women from the Redland Art Gallery Collection on the community Art Wall Display. Their NAIDOC exhibition Because of Her will be on display from Tuesday 3 until Saturday 14 July in the RPAC Concert Hall Foyer. More info
